Getting references after many years...

Published

I am currently applying to graduate school to become a FNP. I graduate nursing school 6 years ago. Some of my professors are no longer there. One of my applications needs 3 references one strongly encouraged to be a professor. Do you think it would be ok not to have one? I feel like my professors would not remember me. Or would you contact a former nursing professor via email asking if they would fill out a recommendation?

I had the same issue and I told the schools that. The ones I applied to said I could use the nurse educator for my unit or the nurse that monitors ongoing competencies.

You could try contacting your previous instructor if they are still there, they may not remember your face but they can pull clinical evaluations and such, I've done that before
