Getting a License in NY?

Hey everyone! This is my first post, but I have to say everyone elses questions have been a huge help to me. Anyway, I am an RN with 2 years experience, but I graduated from a diploma program in Arkansas. I plan to move to New York City within the next year. That said, I have two questions:

1. How do I go about getting a license or transferring the one I already have?

2. Will only having a diploma be an issue, since I do have a couple years of experience?

NY actually only requires a two year nursing degree, the Diploma is completely acceptable.

You will be applying for a license by endorsement, you will still keep the license that you have now until it expires and you decide if you wish to renew it or not.

You can get the application from the NY Board of Nursing website. Quite simple to do...........
