Getting into L&D?

I am a new grad currently working in a community hospital on a medsurg/oncology unit. I am grateful for the job but this is not what I want to spend my life doing. I searched for L&D/OB jobs but was not successful at finding a new grad position. I want to get into L&D as soon as possible. Does anyone have any suggestions to get into the speciality where I want to spend the rest of my career? Thanks.

L&D is not my area of choice so I can't tell you specifically how to get into it :)

But from what I've seen in general, having a year or two of med/surg experience may help you transition into L&D. Also, I know of a few hospitals that offer programs for experienced nurses wishing to switch specialties.
