getting hit from all sides

In 2007, I was up for a job interview and my uds was positive at the facility when I was offered the position. The facility then sent my report to all baords in which I held licensure. CT revoke my license emergently even though it was expired, rhode island made my license valid in that state only, and California took no action but noted it in my fil for future incidents.

The incident was isolated, but I guess that's a hard thing to prove.

So now, Mr Swartzneger dexided BON was to lenient on nursing for their behavior andappointed someone to pull all the files and set hearings for all the nurses thay were not disciplined. Now I'm up fod a hearing in CA. For the 2007 uds. I was working as a traveler so now am out of luck with that on my record and the fact my compact status has been removed in RI.

I continued to work ER and ICU for 4 yrs with no disciplinary action or infractions on my licenses til now. I'm atuck, have a hearing coming up in California and requestesd reinstatement in RI. To compac status as there are not man ffacilities. In RI one can work at.

I don't k.ow how to handle these hearings, no funds for all these legal actions, , and after 4 years I'm dumbstruck they now think its an issue after renewing me 2 times. Any advise. PLEASE

You are getting caught up in a well know quagmire where various BON's do their own thing on an issue that did not occur in their state and which other BON's are also dealing with. You absolutely MUST retain a lawyer experienced in defending RN's before BONs. Should you ignore CA they likely will revoke your license which can lead to RI doing the same.

To find a lawyer specializing in this area call the American Association of Nurse attorneys referral hotline at 1-866-807-7133. Be sure to tell them you need a license defense attorney.

It is an issue in CA because the LA Times ran several articles that received nationwide coverage concerning the issue of "bad" nurses getting away with transgressions by moving from state to state. The governor decided to make political hay with the issue and now there you are.

Arnie might have made better use of his time by working on his personal problems before creating them for his constituents.
