Getting Ducks in a Row....help Please..trying to figure out what all I need to do.

Okay, I live in Southeast Georgia. And am looking into going to the Jesup Ga Altamaha Tech College to become an LVN/LPN. I called the college today and was told that first before taking the LPN classes that I would have to take the Compass test then once that is done, take what he called, (HCA) Healthcare Assistant Program classes...he said that after I get that far her would explain the rest. I am so confused.. I understand what he is saying....but I have a friend in TX who is starting Nursing School in August.. and she seems to think that I might be getting this wrong.. Is there anyone in Georgia that has been through this or IS going through this that could help me PLEASE. I just want to know what I am getting myself into. I can't start the classes just yet anyway.. my husband is fixing to go to Police Academy In Savannah. So I am going to wait until he gets out before I start this. I have a 3 year old so I am going to be balancing being a mom and school with daycare and all of it.. So if anyone could help me by explaining what all I need to do.. It would be very helpful. Thank You. :uhoh3:

At our nursing school, we had to apply as HCA to take the required core classess, and since the LPN was a competitive process not everyone would get in so you weren't offically LPN students unless you were selected into the program
