Getting to an assignment

I'm in NC and am considering going to Arizona for an assignment. For those experienced travelers, would you suggest flying and renting a car or driving your own car? Thanks

On Assignment actually pays for the rental car 100%. I would assume that even with the rental car reimbursement you would be covered for sight-seeing, as the rentals have unlimited mileage, even if you were doing the car contract on your own.

All I need to do is show them my driver's license at the airport, then I am on my way.

That is what I like so much about the agency, everything is taken care of, minimum stress.

Hello! new to the site, but had to put my 2 cents in here. I have never heard of having to find your own housing! The vast majority of the time, I have had a private, turn-key, apartment (once I had to live in hospital housing. no choice, no other housing around). I like to drive my own car, but some of the other nurses like to fly. One or two have rented cars, but have not had to pay any extra over what the company pays unless they have driven A LOT of extra miles. They provide half of my travel money up front, so I can actually GET to my assignment. Most of the time, I am able to just walk in and cook supper or whatever with the pots and pans provided. Clean sheets, towels and all that. It's great.

As far as the insurance for the car, the company covers that too. I asked that when I first started working for them because there was no way I was going to pay for california insurance on a rental car while I am here. The airfare they pay for and set up, which I like. I hate waiting for companies to reimberse anything. The housing, rental car and airfare is very stress free, which is nice.
