New Southern California Licensed LVN & I have been looking at jobs since before I took nclex. EVERYONE Req. that 1yr. .. don't get me wrong I will still apply idc lol . but geeez , I feel New Grads are WAY easier to train & mold. vs. Vets that are set in their ways. Everyone makes mistakes weather New Grad or a 20yr experienced VN . Id like to start off working in a Sub Acute Facility. ER ICU Or L&D/peds are my dream jobs, probably won't happen till after I get my BSN tho. Any recent New Grads have Luck finding jobs in SoCal with this 1yr Requirement epidemic ? I'm over in the LA County Area .

While you're waiting, are there any places you can volunteer? Community Health organizations? I don't know that these are possibilities there, but we have a few places around here that medical professionals donate their time. Could look good on a resume. Just food for thought. Hang in there, you'll land something.

Trick is to really know someone! I networked soo much after I graduated nursing school..in hopes of a prospect job to apply to. Believe me when I say that I was all over craigslist, monster, glassdoor, etc. no luck. Up until I texted a friend of mine who happened to knew of an opening at his job. It's quite difficult.. But don't give up! Constantly network and try to get to know other people. I too live in SoCal, LA area. Good luck!
