Mar 11, 201412 yr Is that possible? Because I heard so many bad things about applying to ADN program in smaller colleges/community colleges. I had friends tell me they had to wait for years! Is it possible to get in on the first try?
Mar 22, 201412 yr so, I am a crip (blue scrubs/uniform for RN program) and a blood at night (burgundy hoodie for my animal/plant courses). hahah Hilarious ?
Mar 22, 201412 yr I applied to two schools last year didn't get in (first attempt) was bummed out didn't reapply until this year (wanted to make sure my Associate degrees were officially posted on my transcripts this time for me to get those points) I just got my 1st acceptance letter today from goldenwest college.
Apr 9, 201412 yr Southwest.I tried to get information about LATTC and it was too much effort when I already was getting feedback from my school.
Apr 9, 201412 yr Above and beyond everything else - believe in yourself and know your situation/circumstance is unique - because there is no other you. Everyone told me: all prereqs throughout LACCD are impacted - you'll never get them done in under 3 years. Not my experience, I moved from bio/chem to anatomy to physio within 3 semesters. There wasn't a time that I did not get into any of the classes I needed. So, don't let others scare you into thinking your experience is going to be some big horror story or will be wraught with trials and tribulations.I am in my last 8 weeks of my second semester - and I am grateful, grateful that everything I heard was...wrong.
May 17, 201412 yr It's possible! My advice- APPLY EVERYWHERE! If you're passionate about nursing, don't let location scare you. Majority of adn programs are lottery but there are a few that are based on a point system. I am in the Sacramento area and applied to CSU Sacramento for the bsn program. My mistake was applying to just one school. Of course, I wounded on the wait list and was devastated. Couldn't apply to other bsn programs because I missed the deadline and it would take approximately a little longer than I hoped. However, I jumped right back onto my feet and the following semester, applied to 6 other ADN programs. 5 based on lottery and 1 on a point system. Wounded up getting accepted to 2 colleges, one being the lottery and the other point college.
May 17, 201412 yr It'll happen!I applied last year to only two programs didn't get in...But waited until this year cleaned up my previous school's transcripts and also had graduated with 3 associate degrees now officially on my transcript...and applied to 3 programs and got into all 3. So don't get discouraged if you don't get in the first try...cuz you could be pleasantly surprised the second time around :)
