so, i didn't finish my cpne in madison...ya. that's right. it's not a difficult exam. it's a strange one. a test of memory under stress. i suggest having everyone in your household wear labcoats and carry clipboards months prior to your exam. and i'll be getting a xanax prescription for the next go round.
i'm applying again in less than two weeks...but...
i live in georgia and i don't want all of my hard work to go to waste. i live in atlanta and moving isn't an option anywhere in the near future. does anyone know how many hours of clinical experience georgia requires prior to endorsement?
i'm not giving up. even if i have to commute to tennessee for a period of time.

I am not exactly certain of the total number of hours that Georgia requires for clinicals; I am sure if you want this information you can locate it on the state BON site. However for endorsement I think it is 500 hours worked as an RN in another state, however this DOES NOT apply to graduates of the Excelsior program; the initial license can't be from Excelsior to qualify. If it were this simple, we all would be working at a healthcare facility in another state to get 500 hours. Georgia is not accepting endorsement applications for any Excelsior graduate at present, no ifs, ands or buts about it. I don't think clinicals will be added to the program to accommodate the bon's either. As a student, with my professional career on the line and on hold in Georgia, I would be more than willing to complete precepted clinicals to satisfy the bon and get my professional career started in GA.
Oh yeah, I wish you well in your next attempt on the CPNE.

Take it again and move somewhere else. However, you said moving is not an option. I'm sorry to hear. It's sad that GA is doing this. Better luck on your next CPNE!
