Anyone that has experience, do you recommend Georgetown CRNA program?

I have met a few graduates from Georgetown and also worked closely with a SRNA ( in the sicu while she was in the program.....yes she worked weekends while in the program) She is now practicing and seems competent and happy to me. The others that I have met seem pretty competent as well as is most crna's from any other program. I hear Georgetown have a great program. When I spoke to one of the professors there, she boast about their high state exam passing rates for several years. But they all say their scores are very high. So, I guess maybe go to the school and speak with the students, faculty as I did. This way you can get a better idea about the enviroment and what the program is like. This also allows you to get a feel of the program and determine if it may be a "good fit" for you. There is no better way to get it than to talk to current students.

Just my two cents.

I interviewed and was accepted, chose to go to a "better fit" program for me. I have a friend who is currently in and loving it. It is a well known school and has a reputation for turning out good practitioners. Uncle Sam trusts them as well- the navy uses it to teach the didactic portion to it's SRNA's. There is a former moderator here on allnurses who is a g-town grad I think- (search Nilepoc). The tuition and location are EXPENSIVE! But, as others will tell you, you could probably pay twice as much and still have a great career. I would recommend visiting and talking with the program director (call first) see the campus and visit GUS (the simulator they use for teaching). See if you are a good fit. Remember, just cause it's a good program, don't mean its the right program for you.
