Hello
I am an experienced home care nurse who recently moved to NC to be closer to family since my husband passed away this past year.
I have an interview on thurs with gentiva and am wondering how they are to work for....
The position is for Baylor.... 24hrs get paid for 32 or 32 hrs get paid for 40.... they said if you accept the position you can work the hours around the weekend any way you like..... Fri-Sat-Sun-Mon 8 hrs each....Sat-Sun 12 or 16 hrs each.....Sat/Sun 12 hrs ea + 1 eight hrs shift during the week.... they say they are very flexible
I would like to know what issues if any, anyone has had....also I would like feedback re: Baylor positions in homecare
you can PM me if you like ....
any feedback would be greatly appreciated

Powernurse,
I pm'd you. But I'm new to my area as well, and don't know a whole bunch about the company myself. They all seemed very nice, and the office seemed to run smoothly, but I have no idea how HH is run, so I'm not the best judge.
I'm sorry to hear about your husband.

:innerconf Sooooyou want to know what "The Nation's leading healthcare provider" is really like? And I would just loooove to tell you--but then I'd have to kill ya! :sofahider So, I'll just give you a little blurb: BIG corporate structure...recently spent a gazillion dollars on a study of what really mattered to patients, and came up with the gazillion-dollar answer: "Be nice." Or, rather: "Caring the Gentiva Way." Which was supposed to apply to staff as well.:rotfl:
However, it is probably the most ethical HHA you will find; the benefits for F/T are not bad, the productivity is 25-27 units a week, and someday we will get laptops--as soon as they work out the glitches. A lot depends on your BD, your MCP, RBD, and RVP--we have an online course on abbreviations alone in our GU website.
Today I drove 150 miles to see 6 patients. Yesterday it was 178 to see 5.
:deadhorse That being said, I have been with the 800LB Gorilla for 11 years, and went back into the field after being an MCP. No matter that I have put 40,000 miles on my 6-month-old car...which is, of course, my office and daytime apartment...I wouldn't work anywhere else in nursing. An acquired taste, to be certain. Hope you give us a try:groupwelcome:
