General vs Patho Micro

After this semester I'll only have one more pre-req before I can apply to my school's nursing program, and that is Micro. We have the option to take either General or Pathogenic Microbiology. I'm not really sure which one to take, or even what the difference is between the two classes. Can anyone offer any info/suggestions? Thanks!

Does your school have a description of the courses? Pathogenic would mean focusing on those that cause disease. Although that sounds interesting, I'd probably take general micro.

yep, ask your school advisor on what one to take. nothing is worse than taking the wrong class.

good luck.

Thanks for the responses. Yes, there is a brief course description for both, but I was still unclear. In my mind, I thought that pathogenic study would align better with my nursing study (re: disease, etc.), but then again, it would probably be better to take the general micro course to gain a more thorough initial understanding.

I'll still have a talk with my advisor, though, to see which is recommended.
