General ED CLEPS

Hey everyone! I need 5 more credits to have the required amount to apply for the CPNE (along with my 3 more NC tests!)

Please share your experiences with your CLEPS... What study guides did you utilize, time frame to study, and past experience of the subject.

Ideally I'd like to do the Humanities CLEP. Honestly, I know not a darn thing about it except for the fact that it would give me 6 credits and save me a whole lot of money. Has anyone CLEP'd this without any previous knowledge?

Thanks for any input!

Erin

I don't have experience with the Humanities CLEP. But I did take the Marketing and Management CLEPs and they were very easy. Good luck!

I don't have experience with the Humanities CLEP but I did take the Psych CLEP about 2 weeks ago. I have a very limited psych background (just what I learned in LPN school and in 6 months on a substance abuse/mental illness unit). I bought a highly recommended CLEP study guide, but I never used it. :uhoh21:

The only advice that I have for you is to not be discouraged if you're taking the test and feel like you're failing. As I was going through the Psych exam, I only felt like I truly knew the answer to about 1 out of every 3 or 4 questions. The majority of the test had me dazed and confused, and by the end of the exam I was just exasperated and felt like a total failure.

I walked out with a 61 (50 is passing for my school).

I did my humanities with a clep test. I used a dlsi study guide and rented some dvd's from blockbuster online called standard deviants that covered the shakespeare part really well.

Thanks for the ideas!!! I think I can do the Analyzing and Interp. Literature for 6 credits too.. I need to double check with Excelsior tomorrow. I hear that one is not so bad. I also found the best website ever regarding CLEP's http://www.instantcertonline.com/forums I think Lunah has mentioned it once or twice.... They also offer online study guides and links to practice tests. It was a great find!
