GCU Fall 2015 **ALTERNATES**

Hey guys,

I was wondering if there were any other GCU alternates out there! Are any of you current GCU students? Transfers? Do any of you know what is going on with this? Like the rankings and placement potential. This really took me by surprise. I hope we can figure this out together. I don't want to get my hopes up like I have been with GCU.

I'm an alternate! As far as I know, they are ranking us on our GPA and HESI score and giving us spots based on those rankings. They still have spots in Tucson if you want to move there. I think they take quite a few people off the alternate list, but I'm not completely sure. I don't know anything else about a webinar or what to do next. Hopefully they let us know within the next few days. Has anyone heard anything? Does anyone know how many of us there are?

I am a transfer student alternate. My friend was selected off the alternate list last year. She will be graduating in a few months. All i know is we will know our rank on the alternatelist by July 1st.

Ashley, are they releasing that info to us? Did you talk to an advisor?

I haven't spoken to an advisor, but the original email states that rankings will be available on july 1. My assumption is that they will tell you your personal ranking, but not necessarily everyone's rank.

I received an alternate offer as well. Since I live in Tucson and had this campus selected as my primary choice, I was thrilled to see that they still have seats available here. I hope my GPA and Hesi score will be good enough to get me in.

Good luck to y'all!

I've heard that will get an email today or tomorrow about a webinar, but not sure about the alternate list! Any news from you folks?

No news here.

My advisor told me yesterday that she doesn't have access to the list yet. She'd email me when she finds out anything...

My advisor told me she hasnt seen the list yet, but she does know that for the there are 50 gcu students on that list ahead of transfer students. So none of us will be ranked above 50!! :(

50 GCU students?! Wow... I guess now it depends on how many want to relocate to Tucson or wait if they can get a spot in Phoenix.

My advisor said that there was no chance for transfers. We are at the back of the list and there are tons of GCU students on it. Originally they were going to rank us on our stats like they said in the email, but then they realized that all the transfers would be in front of their students. They obviously couldn't let that happen!!!

This is awful. I feel like they are dragging us through the mud. We are obviously the top transfers with the highest GPAs and HESI scores, yet they seem to not want us when I feel like any other school would. They should have just told us no transfers. They keep pushing us away and then pulling us back in.
