FSW Spring 2018

It's a bit early, I know. I just wanted to start a thread for all of those looking down the road planning to apply to FSW this fall for the spring 2018 program start..

I'm planning on applying to the Charlotte campus for the Evening/Weekend (ANEW) schedule format.

What campus are you planning on applying to?

What classes are you trying to finish up before applying in Sept/Oct?

What program schedule format will you be choosing (Daytime or evening/weekend)?

Did you take the TEAS VI exam and how did you do?

I look forward to the discussion over the next few months!!

Quick question: did you'll have to get the revised books for class? I was going to buy books from a student but he said our books had to be the revised edition

We're all in the process of exchanging our books for the revised edition, because some had it from the beginning and others had the older version. So, yes you do need the revised edition of the books.

Thank you dear, so did anyone buy their books from someone else or everyone brought their books from the bookstore?

I know you HAVE to buy the access codes, but we don't have to buy the book bundle from the bookstore do we?

Okay so I got a question. In your first semester did anyone add classes or did they wait till summer to take other courses?

I didn't hear of anyone adding additional classes during the semester that we had our nursing classes. Everyone waited until summer. In fact, I believe that I Started the program with the least amount of classes completed (5 out of 9). I am taking micro and human growth/development this summer and nutrition and a humanities next summer. I would advise against doing additional classes during nursing school unless you have lots of time to devote towards school.

I would not recommend taking additional classes during nursing school. You're going to have a lot on your plate and nursing school is very different then gen ed classes so you'll be adjusting to new study and learning techniques. In addition, every semester gets harder. Just focus on learning and understanding the material. Good luck!

Very well put. I spent the whole first semester wishing that I had more time to go through each section before we took the exam and moved on. I can't imagine spending valuable time working on other classes. Like Camerella said, nursing school classes are much more intense than the prerequisite/gen ed. classes.

Sorry about that. I didn't see that you sent me a PM. I am one of the few people who aren't on Facebook haha.

In addition to the supplies they gave us we were asked to buy a "closed case" clipboard for clinicals. Many of the students got the foldable kind which Seem to be better because you can fit them in your pocket. You also will need white shoes but I'm sure you already knew that. Thats it, if memory serves correctly..
