FSCJ SPRING 2015

Hello, everyone!

Since no one has started a Spring 2015 for FSCJ Nursing, I thought I would start it. I plan on applying the beginning of September I will take the exam in august. I'm very nervous of course. I have a preq gpa of 2.87 but I have an overall gpa of 3.23. Has anyone heard that FSCJ has changed their entrance exam to the HESI A2? Anyone applying to FSCJ hoping to get accepted for the spring?

Yea, how are you guys hearing about info sessions and receiving applications in the mail? I was told we had to get one by email or go to north campus to pick one up?

Hi everyone,

I missed my seat by 0.11 points. They took away 12 points from my score as they did not accept on of my classes. I went to the information session on August 4 and this is what I found out

***NEW INFORMATION***

Like you know Sociology has been taken out as a pre-requisite and Chemistry has been included instead.

*There is change in the way you calculate your points for the classes you have taken. The courses such as: Anatomy I, Anatomy II, Microbiology and MAC 1105 have a weight value of x1.5. This means:

For example:

Anatomy I (4 credits) - you earn an A which is 16 points. Multiply 16 by 1.5. -------> (16 x 1.5) = 24 points

Anatomy II (4 credits) - you earn a B which is 12 points. Multiply 12 by 1.5 --------> (12 x 1.5) = 18 points

Microbiology (4 credits) - you earn an A which is 16 points. Multiply 16 by 1.5 --------> (16 x 1.5) = 24 points

MAC 1105 or higher (3 credits) - you earn a C which is 8 points. Multiply 8 x 1.5 --------> (8 x 1.5) = 12 points

***On the other hand the other pre-requisite courses are weighted as x0.5. Meaning:

For example:

Humanities (3 credits) - you earn an A which is 12 points. Multiply 12 by 0.5. ----------> (12 x 0.5) = 6 points

DEP 2004 (3 credits) - you earn an A which is 12 points. Multiply 12 by 0.5. ----------> (12 x 0.5) = 6 points

ENC 1101 (3 credits) - you earn an A which is 12 points. Multiply 12 by 0.5. ----------> (12 x 0.5) = 6 points

PSY 1012 (3 credits) - you earn an A which is 12 points. Multiply 12 by 0.5. ----------> (12 x 0.5) = 6 points

Chemistry (3 credits) - you earn an A which is 12 points. Multiply 12 by 0.5. ----------> (12 x 0.5) = 6 points

******* SO, 24 + 18 + 24 + 12 + 6 + 6 + 6 + 6 + 6 = 108 POINTS

This is how you will calculate you points from now on. Hope this will help you guys. Do not worry by looking at the 0.5 mulitplier. because the 1.5 multiplier will balance everything out. however, there is a tendency that your points might decrease by 1 or 2 points or increase by 1 or 2 points.

Do you know when the next information session is?

Anyone else hoping for nights?? I couldn't find a spot to specify on the application....

Those who have taken the HESI exam, do you know if we have to take the chemistry? Cause the register for the exam does say it. Please ASAP feedback.

Application requests to included signed "Core Performance Standards" on page 6-7 on the application. I do NOT see this in my application. Anyone else have this problem when sending in their application??

When is everyone sending in their applications. I'm nervous about this. How do you all think it going to go. With this being the first time they use the HESI and the changes they made with the preqs. I'm hoping we all get it. I just wonder what the lowest number will be cause every year it gets lower.
