FSCJ Fall 2018

Hey everyone, I figured I'd make this for all of us planning to apply to the AS RN program at FSCJ for Fall '18. The application deadline is May 15th.

Is anyone else finishing up pre-reqs right now? I'm currently taking MCB, AP2, and Algebra.

For those finishing up pre-reqs this Spring, are you planning to take any summer classes for other areas of study?

If you're currently finishing up pre-reqs, how are you balancing your classes while also studying for the HESI A2?

I am applying with 133.2 points, if my calculations are correct.

The email you should have received, states that FSCJ will send out acceptance emails in the middle of June.

You have to take the seven subjects subjects; math, reading, grammar, vocab, a&p, chemistry, and biology however the only four they require a 75% for is the math, reading, grammar, and vocab. I was told to try to do well on the a&p section as well because they still like high scores for that section although it doesn't factor into your points. There are also two sections you have to take which determines your personality and learning style, this is just so the school can understand you I suppose. Good Luck!

Just submitted my application. Total score of 138.06. Fingers crossed and lots of prayers!

I am taking my HESI on thursday. I am aiming for a 90 and above on the vocab, grammar, reading, and math. Pray for me! also the spring and summer cut off has been pretty consistent from what I have read on here. It was 135 points each time. Do y'all have any tips from the vocab or grammar?

I am applying with 142.65! Hopefully it get's me in!

that should get you in!! because I looked at the fscj spring and summer cut off (135 points) on the all nurses pages on here. if you look up fscj spring 2018 or fscj summer 2018 you can read what they said.

The HESI A2 was not bad at all! I think the HESI exam practice book I bought really helped. I just submitted my application and took the HESI yesterday, just in time for the dealine. I am confused on the ranking criteria listed on the nursing application. I know there are 160 possible points for admission, but the last 100 and 20 are both scoring the same subjects on HESI, and I do not see a section for measuring points on what was received in Chem, A&P, and Bio. Does anyone know why? I didn't count the last 20, so I have 132.65 points, hopefully enough to be admitted this fall.

so basically they don't count anatomy bio or chem on the hesi. The last 20 points are quality points. so if you got an 90-100 on reading/vocab/math/grammar, then you get 5 points. 3 points for 80-89.99.

Oh awesome! Thanks! Guess my total is 152.65 points then

yeah so grades are out of 40. then the score for each section of the hesi is divided by 4. So if you get a 90 on each section then that gives you 22.5. 4 sections x 22.5 =90. 90 + total grade points+ quality points ( 4 sections x 5 points in this case since its 90 or >)

I took the HESI today and got an overall of 91 with all the sections and subcategories. I got a 90 or above on the vocab, math, reading, and grammar. Thank God, because the quality points help a lot. I sent my application, and hopefully 145.83 points will get me in. Praying that we all do!
