very frustrated

Ok, so i thought i had my plans made, but the hospital i wanted to work at after graduation just changed their policy and no longer take new grads into the ED (although when i talked to them at a job fair in sept they never mentioned that change was in the works, grr). Anyways, I currently live in Canada but had been hoping to move to NC. Although I would still like to move there, or in that area, I am really hoping people on this forum can give me some good recommendations about hospitals that take new grads into the ED. Preferably, it would be the east coast (although it doesn't have to be directly on the coast) and preferably a climate of not too hot or cold (i know, picky picky). I'm also looking for a medium sized city, although i wouldn't mind a little leeway either side of medium.

so please please please ED nurses, advise me on good hospitals/intern programs for new grads!!

Where are you in Canada? I live in the Detroit,MI area and many hospitals here accept new grads in the ER. We have many nurses in our area that come to work here from Canada. We are very close to Windsor, but we have many nurses who come to work from outside of Windsor. Some come from as far as Chattam. Michigan is a beautiful state and can be very cold at times during the winter. Good luck.

I have considered Claifornia, although i am have not looked into which hospitals have ED new grad programs. however, a friend who is looking to move with me would prefer to stay on the east coast. (we are from Nova Scotia)

Eastern NC has many hospitals that accept new grads. Check out Jacksonville, Keenansville, Kinston, Washington, Morehead City, Greenville, and Wilmington. These cities have hospitals that vary from small community facilities to Level 1 Trauma Centers. All are within a 2 hour drive of the beach - some within 15 minutes.
