Having a GED won't stop you from doing anything. I have a GED and I went to a four year private university. Everyone starts out the same for nursing. You have to build up your college GPA to a very competitive level (3.6+) and just work hard and stay focused. BMCC has become a popular school for nursing so the competition is very steep at that school. You'll take your pre-reqs and just try not to take too many hard ones all at once since you need the best grades. Good luck.

If it helps, I came into BMCC in my late 30's with a GED. In High school I didn't do well at all academically and I also scored the very lowest passing grade on my GED. I'm now in the nursing program at BMCC, I've never received anything under an "A" at BMCC and my GPA has also landed me in the Phi Theta Kappa honor society.
If I was able to do it, so can you. You just have to want it bad enough.
