frequency specific microcurrent

i recently had a knee replacement and used a microcurrent machine on myself (a small unit with amps at body current similar to a TENS unit)....for pain relief, decrease in blood loss, faster healing....i am interested in knowing if any of the RNs have any ideas on scope of practice, etc in order to use this device (small box with electrodes) in our practice for comfort and pain relief...i live in virginia and am interested in using this device in my practice...thanks for any input....ginny

It has to be prescribed by an MD and is generally used on an out-patient basis. Pain specialists and orthos especially use it.

thanks...so, the trick is to find a doc in pain or ortho who will allow me to work under them...i have heard that in some states massage therapists can use fsm within their scope of practice....know anything...

i just came back from advanced course for fsm...wow....what potential

There are probably many who prescribe them, but that was the first two I thought about. Good luck.
