Forsyth Tech ADN Fall 2018

Just wanted to post a topic for all of anyone applying this Spring for the Fall 2018 nursing program at Forsyth Tech. I haven't done my MAR review yet, I'm planning to do that as soon as this semester begins. I just wanted to see who was applying and where you guys stood.

That's what I was thinking. On the other forums they said you have to tell them if you want your spot if you get accepted so if there's no email do you just call. I mean I'm sure there will be instructions in the letter I was just curious. And good luck to you as well. I expected there to be more people in this forum lol

From what I've read here, you have to email someone to claim your seat, and I believe that person's name and email address is in the letter. I also thought there'd be a lot more people like in past years!

Are you nervous because I am lol

For financial reasons mainly, I figured it is cheaper for me to get my adn at a community college then I want to do rn-bsn somewhere. I first looked into the bsn program at uncg but it sounds very competitive and they say on their website they give priority to first time college students, I have an associate degree from home and I'd be considered an adult student. I think doing this for two years then a one year rn-bsn will take less time than me trying to get in at a university and taking lots of prerequisites if my old ones didn't transfer.

I feel the same way. I did early college in high school and finished in 2014 with an associates in science and then graduated from wssu in 2017 with a bachelors in biology and I feel like I'm starting over because I didn't really know what I wanted to do until my last year of college. Since most of my gen ed I finished in high school my classes are getting old as well plus I also agree that it's cheaper. And then i need a years worth of experience before trying to go to the program I want to get into after nursing school so I fired if I worked while getting my bsn I'd be killing two birds with one stone. I heard that there program was really good at forsyth I'm just worried about getting a job after I know some hospitals want you to have a bsn st entry level, not to say they would not hire someone with an adn

I'm so nervous!! I just want to get the letter and know a yes or no! I started taking prerequisites in 2012 at Wake Tech and after taking some time off here and there for kids I'm ready and applied! When I called yesterday they said 4-6 weeks from deadline.

The wait is exhausting. I'm going to try to find things to do to keep my mind off of it. lol

The letter you will receive will tell you to claim your seat by email. It will give you a date for the "registration session". When you attend the registation session they will provide lots of information like your schedule, the uniform order info and a list of all of the required medical documents. You will have plenty of time to complete a physical. You may want to go ahead and be gathering your vaccination info if you feel confident you will get in. You will pay for an account on a site called "castle branch" where you upload all of your documents and certifications. They will also give you a list of books. You won't find out where your clinical site is until the first couple weeks of the semester. Good luck guys. I know the wait is hard.
