foreign RN in us

hi! i just got licensed as an RN in the state of NY through credential verification on may 2012, after 3 1/2 years of waiting :/. but i just moved to GA and im having my license tranfered by endorsment(which is taking forever by the way), and they are asking me to take a reentry course in order to be license here(ga)...now i have been out of hospitals for all that time, and of course i dont have any U.S experience as a nurse. im trying to take a refresher course but one of the requirements is to have at least 6 months of experience in U.S....what to do???!!!pleeeease HELLLP

Oh boy...I had to deal with GA BON for my credentials transfer too. I suggest you call back, ask to speak to whoever takes care of the credential transfers directly, not just the person at the front desk. They have generic questions and answers they have to use. Speaking to the person in charge might help because you could directly explain the dilemma and have them suggest a solution. Other than that...maybe volunteer work in a hospital, or work as a CNA in a hospital, something like that. But start with supervisors at the BON. If the person you speak to can't help you, ask for someone higher up.

thanks a lot. that's exactly what i did today and the person who picked my call took notes of my name and phone # and she said that she was going to email the credential analist and explain my situation to her, and have her contacting me and see what can be done from there. ;/ ...it's a lpt of drama
