Hello everyone, I hope someone who has already done this, or is in the process reads this and can guide me through it.
Well I'm a murse from colombia and I just completed my CES report with CGFNS, thanks God my degree is equivalent to a RN I applied to the Massachusetts board of nursing and I'm waiting for my TOEFL score to be turned in to the board. Now here's where my concerns begin, as soon as I meet all the board requirements they'll contact me and they will clear me to take the NCLEX, then hypotetically I pass my NCLEX and receive my licence. What's the next step? I see loads of information talking about a visascreen and some nursing recruiting agencies. Is all of this necessary or should I just need to apply to whichever jobs I want to.
Please I'd really appreciate some guidance from an experienced user.
Thanks!

Do you need a visa to work in the US?
Well, I still don't know how does it work after one get a license, if a Visa is needed I'm afraid I MUST first have a job offering. I need a detailed guide of what to do after receiving a RN licence.
If you are the main applicant for a work or immigrant visa you will need visa screen certificate.
Process is after passing NCLEX you can either look for an agency or start applying to hospitals. Once you have found a employer willing to go through work/immigrant route they should start the paperwork for immigration or work. If immigrant visa then once your application is approved you have your PD and then you keep an eye on the monthly visa bulletins and watch what happens with your PD. Most nurses come under EB3 and dates will vary depending on where you was born. If work visa (H1B) it is expected you have a degree or equivalent of 10 years work experience and if the hospital is exempt from the quota then they can apply straight away otherwise they can not apply until 1st April and if successful a starting date of Oct
