I recently got a response from a DON a couple of weeks ago telling me that they would be happy to interview me if no current employees apply for the RN positions that they have currently open (since they're union). I don't really know the time-frame of a hiring process.
So I was wondering how long I should wait to following up on the position and how to word the email asking about it (if it's still open or if anyone applied) professionally without seemingly sounding too pushy or annoying.

I am following up on our converstion of XYX date. I am very interested in ABC position at your facility and inquiring if I can schedule an interview with you. (Add if you already replied online... Include one line statement re what skills you can bring this organization).
Looking forward to your response,
