Hi! I was accepted in the summer term at Stony Brook for FNP. It is mostly online work and they place you loacally where you live for the clinical part. I think we have to be on campus once a month. It’s competative as far as acceptance but I know it’s a good program. My friend is going to Penn State for her FNP right now, she lives near Hershey, PA. Good luck!

Hey y’all!
I’m looking to start a FNP program in Fall 2019. I work full time so I would prefer a part time online program. Any suggestions? I applied to Drexel’s program as I live in PA. I also have my license in NY and working on endorsement for NJ.
I know most programs want a requirement of one year experience but are there any that are not a requirement or just preferred? I will hit my year mark just a little past the beginning of the semester.
Also, I definitely see myself working outpatient and then eventually in the ER but right now I think I need to work in an outpatient office or clinic. I love FNP because I can work with all ages. I love geriatrics but I also really love peds. Do you think I should consider getting my school nurse certificate along with my FNP or would that just be a waste of time/money?
Thank you for reading! Any advice is much appreciated!
