FMLA changed mind about when to come back

I had a baby in July. 2 weeks ago I filled the draft schedule to go back to work after 11 weeks off but now I'd like to take full 12 weeks off (just not ready), just emailed my boss and will call later. The new schedule is supposed to be out end of day today, just wondering whether my boss will have to let me take the 12th week off. Thx.

Do you have official paperwork that states you are allowed the 12 weeks then they can do nothing about it but change the schedule. Work will always be there so when you get a chance for time off never forfeit it again. As a matter of fact if you are not ready now... Will you be ready in one more week. If not then you may be able to go out on stress disability. That is what I had to do. Not only was my boyfriend not helping but I was in pain from a chronic disease I have but I know many nurses who did not have my stressors and it was still granted as they were overwhelmed. I did see a physchiatrist to do this and was out for 45 months

You were out for nearly four years and they kept your position for you?
