any flu in UK?

Published

We never get much imput anymore on the general discussion boards about what is going on in rest of the world. I guess it is a draw back related to these specialty boards. I have looked up some articles on the London Times and BBC and see just a few about a flu outbreak in UK. It seems children are being infected in UK also. But it also seems that the news media is not as preoccupied with the outbreak in UK as it is in the US. I remember the flu outbreak of 1999-2000 the general boards were filled with information from nurses all over the world about how they were handling the flu outbreak in their countries. I miss that.

there has been a few things mentioned in the press but I think it tends to be a more local authority thing, with alot of doctor surgeries trying to get people in the risk groups and the >65's to get their flu jab. At the moment it has mainly affected children but I believe alot has to do with the mild December weather england seems to be enjoying,

That is my opinion

So far it not been as bad as expected but I suppose its still early days.

The update of the Flu jab which was also offered to health staff has not been great in my area so maybe worse is to come.

Hasnt there been a few cases of Chinese Flu or something that some children have died of? A girl in Bucks who was 3/4 died of it a few weeks ago.

yes there has been a few cases of Fujin flu, but it is believed that the flu vaccine which is being given to the risk groups and >65's should have some protection.
