FL to NY RN

Hey all,

So my fiancé and I are moving up to New York from Florida. Both our licenses are up for renewal in the coming months. My question is. Would I renew my license in Florida then transfer to NY or, If I transfer my expiring license, would it be basically renewed in NY. This is my first renewal and that is why I am clueless. Both have different CEU requirements from what I know. Anyone had any experience with this? thanks

I hold both a NY and FL license. Your first renewal in Florida is super easy to do. Barely any CEs that are required. If I were you I would renew the Florida license and then apply for a second license by endorsement in NY. It's much easier to apply to NY with an existing license than it is if you let your initial license lapse. NY will require additional coursework in child abuse reporting and infection control prior to applying for your license.

Hello! I have applied for NY endorsement in 3/25/19 (I’m a FL RN).. how long does the process take.. please can you provide me the contact number.. thank you so much!

I don't have the contact number, but I would definitely google it and call the NY BON. It took maybe 6 weeks for me to get my NY license.
