Is anyone else out there applying for the FIU program in Miami? I haven't heard from them yet for an interview. It would be reassuring if I'm not the only one. I know their deadline isn't until the end of the month so maybe they're waiting until then to send out any letters.

Hi had applied at FIU. THey lost my application 3 times as well as my fee. I have no confidence in them. I withdrew my application.
They called about 2 weeks after I was accepted somewhere else.
They are not on the ball.
I used to work at FIU and made the mistake of taking Pharmacology there ( grad level) and was appalled.
No one from FLorida should ever say a damn thing about
education in Alabama or MS.
FIU is a JOKE. I worked with their students and they are a cut below. You could still get an education there but make sure you squeeze every thing you can out of it.

hey -
i applied to FIU.
i received my interview invite today. i had NO problem with them. applied online, sent a packet to grad office.
i do not know what in what capacity frank worked with the students, but from what i've heard it is a sound program.
good luck,
gc.
Yeah, I got my interview offer today as well. Does anyone know how many are invited for interviews? I know there are 40 slots available.
I want to clear one thing up. I did not work with anesthesia students at FIU. They had no such program when I worked there. They did not have the law program or even conceive
of a med school ( I shudder to think).
The students, in general, at FIU make the party school I attended look like Rhodes Scholars. That is just my opinion. I have no doubt that when you all get out of there (good luck on the interview, and hope you get in) that you will do fine.
I just know that FIU is driven by political correctness and trendiness not substance. THat is evidenced in their curriculum.
You will do well in spite of being stuck under that abomination of a school of nursing.

Five of my past co-workers have gone there over the past couple of years and they all are happy! I don't know details but things seem fine. It is a program only a couple of years old tho.

My interview at FIU is March 5. I worked w/ one of the instructors while on a travel assignment in Florida a few years ago. He tells me that the first SRNA class graduated in Dec. - I'm interested to hear how they do on the cert. exam. From visiting w/ this instructor and the director, I am impressed with the program and will go there if accepted.
