I will begin a new grad position on an ICU. How can I best fit in with the staff? Is it too much to bring food goodies the first day or two?

I think that would be a nice thing to do and actually did that myself when I changed hospitals a couple of months ago. The donuts didn't last and neither did the job, but, such is life. I included a little card that said "I am looking forward to working with you all and becoming a part of the team". I was going to be floating to both rotations so I brought them 2 different days for each rotation. They were very shocked that someone did that and stated that no one had ever done it before. It was definately a good icebreaker!!
Good luck with the new position!!

Goodies are a very nice treat and I think most nurses would appreciate it!! (even the ones who say they are on a diet!)
What a great idea :)
Good luck with your new position!

Nice gesture. :)
You might add a little note/card saying something like
"I'm as nervous about starting here with you as certainly you are about having me, the new grad.
You teach me, I'll feed you......... and all will be well in ICU "
Let us know how it goes, and wish you the best !!!

Definitely let them know you are looking forward to them "helping" you learn how to be a nurse.
