First year syllabus request. :D

Hey everyone... after being on this site for years and slowly making my way through the Nursing student board, to the graduate nurse board, to the MICU/SICU board,.. I can now say that I belong on the SRNA board. :D I just got my acceptance letter from U Penn, though I haven't replied yet. :lol2:

I'm looking to get started ASAP into preparing myself. I know everyone says to enjoy my time and blah blah,.. and I will, but I also don't want to waste a YEAR if it means getting some slow leisurely studying done on some basic topics.

So I'm asking for syllabi from your first year of school. Pharm/ Intro to Anesthesia/ Anatomy and Physiology/Physics/Pain Concepts/Chem/Math etc...pretty please... they will make a world of a difference to me.

I don't have syllabi as I haven't started nursing yet but I have lots of textbooks, studyguides, outlines for various topics all in pdf format. Would any of that help you?

I'm always overly prepared for mostly everything.

You can start by reading Basics of Anesthesia. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1437716148/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_sr_1?pf_rd_p=486539851&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=0443068011&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=1CPGAZCSQ4DBECVSKFRG

Also, if you PM your email I can email you the USUHS anesthesia pharmacology guide.

Congrats on your acceptance! If you decide to go to UPenn, I would recommend taking their MSN core classes (pharmacology, pathophysiology) since you have a year before you start CRNA school. I did this and it will help lighten your course load when you're in the program. If you have already done this, try contacting the Program Director to see if she can e-mail you the first year's syllabus or a list of CRNA books used. A lot of students did this in my program so its okay to start reading to get ahead, Good luck!
