First Test

Well, I had my first test today. It was not what I was expecting and I did not do as well as I thought I did (a D+) :bluecry1: First, it was an electronic test in which you could not go back and review your answers, I guess to get us ready for what it is like to take the NCLEX. I am horrible at test like this. I am use to taking my exam and then going back on ones I was not sure about and really taking my time to think about those. I don't know. I studied pretty well. I read the notes, reviewed chapters and still....I sucked. I guess I will have to work harder...or quit and do something different. :( I guess I am venting. Ugh! Well, back to studying.

I have my first test tomorrow. I have no idea what to expect, and can only hope I have studied effectively. I'm sorry you were so disappointed in yourself. Maybe you just needed to experience it once to get a feel for it. I'm sure you'll do better on the next one!:)

Now that you have your feet wet, you'll have a better idea of how to prepare for the next one. That first test is always difficult. I know, I had mine today - but my teacher has not posted our grades yet.

I hope you get better each time.

It's true. The first test of every course is usually the worst! Once you get a feel for it, things usually perk up. That's why I usually try to take the same profs again (if I like them).

I'm sure you'll do much better on the next one - and don't get too hung up on the letter grade. If it's in line with the average for your class, you're probably right on track, it's usually the teacher who's off! :D

Thanks everyone for the encouraging words! It really means a lot.

Specializes in Cardiac.

I have my first test tomorrow, I'm nervous too, not really know what to expect. I know it will be the Nclex style, but we have been doing a few questions to prepare us for tomorrows exam. I hope it's true about it gets easier to understand the "rationales" as we go.

good luck to everyone!!

Good luck to Animal1993 and Redy2BANURSE on your test. I am sure that you both will do really well.

Specializes in Urgent Care NP, Emergency Nursing, Camp Nursing.

I had my first nursing school test yesterday in my basic assessment course, which covered the Patient History and Interview, the Head and Neck, Eyes, ENT, and the Chest and Lungs. It went a lot better than it could have, though of course everyone in the class spazzed out about it beforehand.

I just got my first nursing test back and got a 92...is NOT an A but a B+. she drilled the nursing process into us like a crazy person and i thought i had got only 1 or two wrong. got 4 wrong and she kicked out a question cause the whole entire class got it wrong. Keep your chin up, and study hard..youll do fine. nothing to do now but look forward to your next test..youll do great!

What is the cut off for your exams? Anything less than a 77 is not passing and you;d have to re-take it. I dont know how it works. but at the end of the semester over 77 is passing and its PASS/FAIL at that so grades dont really matter. Good luck to you..
