I just wanted to share my excitement with everyone. I had an interview today at a ltc facility and received an offer of employment! I'm so excited as this will be my first cna job. Wish me luck!

cool! what shift? did you do your clinicals there? Get some good shoes and congrats!
7a-7p shift. I took my classes back in '10 and I became certified last year. This is my first cna job. I'm not sure why I waited so long but what's done is done. I filled out all of my new hire paperwork today. The only thing I'm not happy about is starting at $9.50/hr but I guess I can't complain too much.
I did my clinicals at a different facility. The facility I'm at now is within walking distance from my house so that's another plus

Have a good time and enjoy getting the experience! :)
Thank you! So far it's going very well. I'm very grateful that I have the opportunity to work in the field I love so much. No other job has given me this much satisfaction before.
So is it at a hospital? $9.50 is pretty good pay for a new CNA. My first job paid $9-$10/hour depending on the patient's insurance. After a couple years experience you'll be worth more! Congrats again!
The hospital I just got employed at pays $9.95 for 7a-7p and 7p-7a gets paid $11.74, I believe!
I just tell myself it's way better than minimum wage. That extra 2-4 dollars helps in the long run!
Good luck and be sure to keep us updated on your experience

Good luck! I started at $9.50 an hour on 2nd shift at the LTC I'm getting ready to quit. When I moved to 1st shift, it was $9.00 for the first month until we received a cost of living raise to $9.27 an hour on first. A month later I received a performance raise to $10.27 an hour on first. We also get a $.50 shift differential and a $4.00 weekend differential. The hospital I am going to will pay me $9.75 an hour for first, $10.27 for 2nd and 15% weekend differential. Better money at the LTC but I end up with nothing to show for it after I drive almost 180 miles a week just for work.

Congrats! I work second shift as a CNA. Where are you from? The LTC Facility I work at starts new CNAs at 12.51 an hour.
I work at a ltc facility in Ohio. We have no shift differentials. I hope to be there for at least a year and move on to a hospital
