Fired/terminated

About 6 months ago I was told I could either resign or get terminated from my job as a CNA.

I chose to get terminated so I could get unemployment.

The situation that I am in right now is that I am in nursing school and my CNA certification is about to expire.

I went to the Michigan website that keeps track of the CNAs certifications and I put in my certification number but nothing shows up! So now I don't know if my certification has been revoked/suspended.

I never received anything in the mail saying that my certification was revoked/suspended BUT I did receive a certification renewal form so I am guessing I am still certified?

But when I went to this site:

no information on me shows up, so I don't know if the website is down or my certification is revoked.

For those of you that are CNAs, is the link working for you? Can you see the information?

Also, if my CNA certification has been revoked in Michigan can I still become a RN?

If I were you, I would comply with the requirements to renew the CNA certificate. At the same time you can continue to call the certifying authority to get answers to your questions. The fact that you were sent a renewal form tells me that your certificate is in good standing. You just have to hear someone confirm this for you. If you find out otherwise, then you need to ask what impact this will have on applying to RN school. Good luck.

I called prometric today and asked them when my certification expires, they told me on the 14th - which means that I am still certified.

They also told me there is a 60 day grace period.

I am looking for a job right now and have two job interviews but I am worried that I will not get hired in time for them to fill out my renewal form.

So from what I understand, if my certification expires I then have 60 days to renew it? And I don't have to retake the course or retest?

Because online I read that you have to retest and retake the course.

Anyone know how this works?
