I'm wondering if anyone is taking out loans all through out their prereq's and nursing school? I was thinking about taking out loans to help with extra expenses but I'm not sure if it would be good idea to do it for the prereq's.

Sure people do it every day. Just make sure you borrow only the amount you will need to get through from semester to semester. Also keep track of the amount the monthly payments will be at the end of your program.
Only do this if you have tried every other avenue and still find yourself short of cash. Those monthly payments can become burdensome once you start to settle down and raise a family (if your not already).
Thanks for responding, if everything goes well I probally won't need the loans after all

I am taking out loans for my prerequisites. I want to get through as quickly as possible, and I can devote more time to my studies and application padding activities when I'm not working. Living expenses are covered, so it's just the tuition and book money I need.

I am. Most of it will hopefully be put towards the ASN program...since I will have to quit working and still be able to raise a toddler.
The money now helps me with added expenses while being in school and also purchased a laptop to use for added convenience while making sure my toddler doesn't burn the house down.
You can also pay off interest while in school that way it does not capitalize after you graduate.
