I FINALLY get this right and it seems as if it won't happen!!! I recently submitted my declatory order to the Texas BON. I have never been in trouble other than speeding tickets. Recently about 3 years ago while working for the Post Office I clocked out for the day and walked as usual to my car which I parked where the customers park. On the ground was a gift card sort of wrapped in a sticky. I walk back inside and informed the supvr on duty this card was on the ground. She instructed me to call and make sure it didn't belong to anyone. I did and there was no info attached to the card so I used it. A month later a customer file a complaint that their gift card was lost but used 😳 Long story short I was charged with mail tampering a misdemeanor B cause it was 100.00. How foolish right! I regret that day. I am the lady who will walk back in Walmart as I have forgot eggs under my purse or something fell on the side of my basket. Why was I so foolish!! Now I'm not sure how this is going to work out and I'm beyond nervous. Nursing Is my PURPOSE! Offer me some hope or prayers.

Sounds very strange. How could there be any proof you tampered with mail and didn't find the card as you said? Just because you work in a Post Office? Too late now I guess since you already got charged and fined.
I found a debit /gift card sitting on a locker room bench once. So these things do happen.

Unfortunately, you now have a criminal record, which BONs do not take lightly. The good news is that there are many applicants with criminal records who get licensed by the BON. The bad news is that it takes time, nor is it guaranteed.
It looks like you're doing everything you need to and are now in the "hurry up and wait" stage. The only other thing I would recommend is that is the BON wants additional information from you and/or for you to appear in front of them to address this, that you consult with a lawyer versed in dealing with BONs. You can find some here: TAANA Executive Office - Home.
You may decide to respond to an information request without talking to one first, but IMO do NOT go in front of the BON without a lawyer at your side. The BON's primary focus is protecting the public; the nurse's interests come second...if even considered at all.
Best of luck.

Congratulations!
