Feeling down,Need Help!

Have you talked to your professor 1 on 1? What did they say? What class is it?

I don't blame you, I would be freaking out! Have you seen your instructor privately? You are probably studying in a way that is not suitable for your style of learning. I have passed all my tests so far with high 80s or low 90s. Anything below an 80 is failing in my program so I still consider anything in the 80s too close for comfort, but let me tell you what works for me. I don't read entire chapters. I read what is in the Unit objectives. I do the reading quizzes. I rewrite by hand the power point presentations. I pay close attention in lecture. (I don't really take a lot of notes in lecture, because the lectures are basically just the power points, plus maybe a group activity.) Read all the "Text boxes and clinical alerts" in the textbook. And definitely talk to your professor. Good luck.

Yea I talked to my nursing instructor last week and she gave me some study tips and techniques but I don't know if I'm not using them correctly or what. The class in nursing 111 I'm in an adn program

I think that might be my problem. I read every chapter from 1st page to last and I think that its not helping me retain the information. I do take the test at the end of the chapters but I pass those with no problem. Thanks for the powerpoint suggestion I'm going to try that because like you our lecture is just mainly going over the powerpoint. Thanks so much

I'm in that course too. One thing my instructor told us is that the 1st and the 3rd semesters are the hardest. So keep trying, your instructor also may tutor you herself during office hours. You can also meet up with a couple of serious students in your class and they can help. I don't know about you but talking procedures out with my classmates helps it sink in for me.

They told us the same thing I knew it was going to be a challenge but Jesus! lol! Its a few classmates that I was supposed to have plan study groups but they always end up going home after class. I think I'm going to ask a few students that I know are doing good and wouldn't mind if I joined them. Thank you so much for the advice:)
