Gosh, 90 miles in IL winters isn't much fun. However, its expensive to live in a second place too. I don't know, I think I would do the drive. However, with my job, I travel a lot anyway....have over 64,000 miles on my car in 2 years.

I think I would drive for now and then reassess it in a few months.

that is 90 miles each way, and I am thinking I would break even either way, but I am also looking at the fatigue factor

Yeah - I know about that....my husband took a job 165 miles away and he does have a condo and comes home on the weekends. Its not ideal for familes but at least we both have jobs.

And....I have to say that my travel time is factored into my day. I visit several dialysis units as far north as Streator/Ottawa and as far south as Lincoln so I do travel but its not too bad.

Are you working 5 days/week?

Sleeping rooms in people's homes are usually less expensive than full-fledged apartments. You can look for compatible people to share with who will leave you alone. I rented a room in a home one time where another lady rented a room to have for a sleeping room in case she needed it and I never saw her there. She must have been able to afford to rent the room and not use it.
