Sup! I recently got accepted to BCHS in Memphis to start school in the fall! I'm really excited as I've wanted to do nursing since I got my BS in Biology in 2013. My question about the BCHS program is the intent to progress to the actual clinical portion of nursing. I've checked everything out and I have 42 of the 43 credits necessary to progress. Would I have to wait a whole year to start clinicals? Just a trimester? Help?! lol I don't mind waiting a year to start, I guess I'm just anxious to get in and get moving.

You have to take at least 12 hours at Baptist before you can put in your intent to progress, then once you get accepted into your program you start clinicals. Congrats!
Thank you for the info!

Have you started at Baptist yet?
Yes, I started in September
Are you in the nursing program or finishing prerequisites?
I start the clinical portion of the program in the summer of 2018. I spent fall 17 finishing prerequisites and waiting on acceptance to the program. I only do a health assessment class for spring 18'.
How long did it take for a decision? Do you like the experience so far? What were your stats if you don't care to share?
I applied for my intent to progress at Orientation in July and got a decision in November. Overall the school is great, the only thing I didn't like was the "freshman" class you have to take to become acclimated to the school. I came in with 42 credits, a 2.9 gpa. I took 14 hours at Baptist and came out with a 3.4 for the trimester
Okay cool. So you completed your intent to progress before you completed your prerequisites? I'm waiting for one more class to come in (college algebra that I took online). Do I wait it ago ahead and put in my application? I'm wanting to apply for Fall. With Health assessment starting that summer.
Yes, I applied before hand because I knew I would complete all prerequisite classes that trimester. Go ahead and apply for it. The deadline is in February. They would let you know by April of your decision. Good luck!

@Devans0591 if you don’t mind me asking what all classes did you have to take before applying for the nursing program ?
