Failed for the 3rd time! Need help :(

Published

I graduated internationally on 2006, took NCLEX-RN thrice, did Saunders, Kaplan, NCSBN and Hurst review. I am already low on funds right now. I have a baby and working full time (40 hrs/ week). I can't go on buying every book or doing online reviews. My results are nearly passing but no above passing scores (so sad):crying2:. Here are my options: 1.) I was thinking of enrolling myself here in Nursing program again and go over everything again since there are no school accepting refresher courses for non-RN's 2.) Just study harder and still work 3.) Quit my work and just focus on studying. My husband doesn't earn that much and I don't want us to be buried with so much debts. I am not giving up NCLEX-RN, I just don't know where I did wrong. I really need some insights, advices or a wake up reminder. Thank you so much. :redbeathe

You may not have done anything wrong. The exam is known to be unpredictable. Many well-prepared people do not pass. Persistence is the key. Try to find a way to pay for the test again and keep on trying. Best wishes.

I would just go with study harder. I think it's a waste of time (and money) going back to school and you can just consider getting a private tutor to help you out. Please don't give up. I agree with caliotter, persistence will pay off. Good luck to you.

I dont know your situation, but perhaps u are not dedicating the time that u need to for ur studying. It takes alot of time and devotion to nursing. Keep trying. I am going for my second try and I feel alot more confident this time because I have dedicated alot of time to it. Good luck, god bless u.

It could also be that you're outdated in nursing. Four years is a long time and things change so frequently in nursing. As stated before study harder. Maybe you want to take a break from studying just for a bit so you can refocus on your studying when you start up again. That might help to clear your mind. I know NCLEX can be a headache. Did you try Mosbys or Lippencott? I heard those two are good sources to use. Good Luck!

Thank you Caliotter3! I won't give up 'til I become a RN:nurse:

Thanks! I am studied hard but I am also distracted with a lot of things. I will prepare and try to avoid distractions this time. I know I will become a RN. Goodluck to us! :)

Thanks! I noticed that the exams now is really complicated compared when I took it 2 years ago. I havent tried Lippincott and Mosby's and I dont want to buy any books because I am really low on funds now. I am thinking of taking the NCSBN review online.
