hi guys! i'm a newbie here. :oi failed last july 11, 2007 with 75 questions!!! i still feel awful & depressed. i prepared for about a month & a half reading the saunders book & used the cd-rom that came with it as well as the lippincott 3000 & nclex cram. i read page to page & i would review for an average of 12 hours per day! but when i sat infront of that computer & started answering the questiong...i quickly realized that i did not know [color=#336633]anything! seriously guys, nothing!!! there were probably two questions that i was sure of. all of the others were wild guesses, or should i say "[color=#ff6666]educated guess!" around question 50, i determined that i had failed the test. the practice exam questions i took from saunders, lippincott & nclex cram were'nt at all similar to the nclex here in hawaii! so after 4 days, the results came & as expected...i failed! now i'm scared to take the nclex again...well, here in hawaii i guess! i feel like if i take it again here, i'd fail...again! i did so well on the practice exams but i totally bombed the real thing! i'll appreciate any advice or suggestions you guys have...please please please helllppp!! i'm planning on going to california to attend live review courses coz i'll be taking nclex again in september. thank you in advance!

I am so sorry to read this. A review course might be helpful. As for taking it somewhere else.....the exam in the same everywhere.
Good luck!

you will pass the next time!, i took my nclex @ hongkong stopped @75 and i passed. i combined Kaplan and Saunders comprehensive cd which i only bought in front of PRC.. lol.
Kaplan books will teach you what type of question you will see in the real exam, and that is, passing type of question which is analysis type. then in Saunders most of their questions are analysis type so you will be trained to answer analysis type. And you want the computer to stay in analysis type of question, which means you are in a passing level. Also when you take a review you will have an idea, you dont need memorize too many data that are simply recall and recognition, because these are failing questions and you dont want that to appear in the computer.
when you are in the exam, try to feel the questions, if you are sensing that the questions are not analysis type.. oh.. oh.. extra effort in answering because you are not in the right path
hope this helps
Goodluck with everything...Godbless.

Since you already went over all that content, I suggest that you take Kaplan's online course and do all the Q-trainers and go over the rationales. Establish testing conditions for each session.
Many of the recent successful NCLEX takers have agreed that the NCLEX was VERY similar to Kaplan's questions.
Good luck.

Im sorry to hear that . But first let me say. Dont give up. Everything happen for a reason. You will pass, think positive.
Try Kaplan review ,i highly recommend it. i didnt pass for the first time, then i tried Kaplan. Q-bank and those Trainers hepled me . read the course book.
my test was similar to Kaplan. there is this book Delegation and Prioritization assignment, it helps me a lot too. The knowledge u learned from Saunders u ll need it ,so dont regret it.
Pray , study ,Pray. nothing is impossible with God , u can do it. Dont be discourage.
Wish u all the best.

Hello Binanlaguna, i took my exam last july 24 in HK and stopped at 75.How did you get your result earlier?May i know the website to check since mine is in california?or did you just wait for the snail mail ? Thanks.Kinda apprehensive now, cant gauge the outcome of my performance in that exam. God help all of us who is awaiting.
i just wait for the mail. i took my exam june 25, the mail arrived july 15, it took 3 weeks for the wait. there is no website for the result, just wait patiently for the mail.
Thanks binanlaguna.Yikes, the waiting is really agonizing. Is it true that they say the size of the envelope matters when one receives a pass(small/thinner) or fail (long/bulky)?

Hello, i am so sorry to hear you failed at 75 questions. But you know what dear, you can do this. I will recommend you three words only KAPLAN! KAPLAN!! KAPLAN!!! Believe me, try the question bank, it most resembles the NCLEX than anything i have used. I have used mosby's, saunders, lippincott and none of these came close. Try and alternate the kaplan question bank at www.kaptest.com and question trainer and you will have a higher chance of passing with flying colors.
Thanks to all of you who replied to my post...you inspire me in more ways than one. I have another concern, i dont know if i should take a live review course or just an online review..I havent decided yet...maybe you guys could help me??? For sure i'll be registering with Kaplan though...
I'm just so scared of the possibility that I might fail AGAIN!!! It's driving me nuts!! hopefully, with God's help, i'll pass the 2nd time around..please pray for me...MAHALO!
