Failed pre requisite prep test

Hi everyone

I am looking to transition to pediatric nursing after 5 years of adult med/surg . I did the interview and unit shadowing but failed to meet the score of the required prep test and will only be eligible to retest after 3months. This has really broken my heart because I had the job in my area of interest with great benefits but blew it. The recruiter tells me to wait till we get to 3 months and then reschedule another test. Has anyone gone through this before?

Yes! It happened to me at CHAO. I retest in July.

I'be never been in this situation w/ nursing (still a student) but I feel your pain. :( best scenario, you get 3 months to study up (surely they offer some material?) And in 3 months you'll knock their socks off! :)

I took that test last week at CHOA. Luckily I passed, but it was hard! I actually just posted on here after I took it hoping people would read and see what they need to study, because I can see if you have 5 years of adult med/surg it could be very difficult. I hate to see anybody no able to get their dream job, esp because of a multiple choice test.

I have no advice other than dont give up. ((hugs))

Well, no job offer yet, so I guess we will see.... :-/ What department were you trying to get into? I want to work for CHOA so bad it almost doesn't matter what department they put me in. Hahaha

@ mwami, do you know when you can retest in july? I'm not sure how to go about rescheduling.
