Unfortunately i failed out of a BSN program but i am looking to go back in to perhaps an ADN program and work my way back to attain the bachelor's degree. I am confident that i will become a nurse and will be the best nurse i can be someday. I want to gain more experience as a PCT. My question is that if i failed out of a nursing program, would looking for a PCT position be out of the question until i get in another program?

It isn't out of the question... However many areas such as "student nurse" pct jobs will not look at your application. Now some hospitals don't even require a CNA liscense to be a PCT. Those you could still get into and your nursing credits may help you. Either way best of luck in your ambitions!

It has been my observation that PCT positions are open to anyone with a willingness to work weekends and a strong back.

As long as you meet the requirements set forth in the job listing, you should have no problem getting a job as a PCT, CNA, HHA, or unlicensed caregiver. Just do what you have to do, such as obtain a CNA certificate, in order to meet the requirements. They will not hold your failed BSN education against you (or should not).

One of the CNAs that I work with failed out of his nursing program, didn't stop him from being hired, as he had his CNA certificate

I'm not sure how it is for other states, but where I'm at, you can take the test to be a CNA afternyour first semester of a Fundamentals class without taking a CNA course. Then, you'd get a better chance of being hired with a certification and in the end, when you do become a nurse, your experience will help you a lot when you are looking for jobs! Good luck !
Thanks for the comments everyone. I will definitely look into getting the CNA certification first.
