Failed NCLEX twice

So, I failed twice. I gave my most effort when preparing for first attempt. I used Kaplan online but followed my peers' lead and did not answer every practice test. The second attempt I kind of lost my momentum and drive in focus. Often people told me "oh its no big deal. Its just a safety test. Nursing school was the hardest; just generalize here and there" That is complete bull ****. I have people who passed nursing school by the hairs of their chinny chinny chin yet soar in the NCLEX? How is this even possible? I clearly need to buckle down and study like knowledge is my means of food. I was thinking of religously answering questions from Davis's Q&A book and Saunder's comprehensive book. I was thinking if I find I am weak in a topic than Ill study its content but otherwise just answer questions and focus on rationales. Also, I plan to use Kaplan Q bank when it comes closer to exam time. What do yall think? Any advice?

How do you know your former classmates "soared" in the NCLEX? All you know is they passed, right? And maybe they passed it "by the hair of their chinny chin chins."

Study for the NCLEX as though it is your full time job. Take breaks, get plenty of rest, eat well, and get some exercise every day. And study. Do as many practice tests as possible, and yes, bone up on the stuff you consistently miss.

And good luck.

I also failed the NCLEX twice both times using all 265 questions. I recently took it again and I passed using only 75 questions. I was mind blown and I KNEW that I passed after the test shut off at 75. The first 2 times I took the NCLEX I was using ATI that came with my nursing program and I feel like just doing that didn't really help me. The 2nd time taking it I also did the NCSBN extension review but that was so hard to concentrate on, it didn't help me. The third time taking the NCLEX, I decided to try the Hurst Review and UWorld. Both of them are amazing! I did the online Hurst review and it is honestly what I needed. All of the lectures and documents that they have are so easy to use. Throughout their lectures they give you NCLEX tips and hints that actually were useful to me and that helped me pass. It doesn't take a long time to finish either. Hurst teaches you the core content, but not like you learned in nursing school. They make certain things easier to remember and I felt so confident after taking Hurst. It's probably not for everybody though because the online part of it is listening to lectures and following allowing with the notes but it was great for me. Also UWorld is amazing as well! They have around 1700 questions and their rationales are excellent. If you can't spend a lot of money go for UWorld, the rationales are very detailed and help you learn better than just by reading. Try Hurst if you couldn't pass with Kaplan, because you review the CORE things that you need. Some little details that every nursing student forgets.

Also definitely go through the NCLEX review that is going around on allnurses. It can really help.

I was in your position as well...But this great tutor (5 years now as RN) got me through..please email me enycity at gmail for more information (put "NCLEX Help needed..." in subject header)
