Failed Nclex-Rn... :(

Published

Took my boards for the first time yesterday at Westlake, California and failed. I did the pvt trick and i got to the C.C. screen. I got 86-87 questions when the computer stop. I used Kaplan to review but it didn't work out. The questions on board are very close like kaplan. My Kaplan Trainer scores were QT1= 62%, QT2= 69%, QT3= 55%, QT4= 50%, QT5= 53%, QT6= 55% AND QT7= 54%. I didn't think this result would hit me real bad but it hurts. Now, i have to share the news to my family and co-workers. It's rough but that's something that i have to deal with for the time being. It wasn't my time but it will be the next time!! You can take that to the bank!!

I'm sure this will be one glitch in a long career. Nursing is like that - - glitches crop up along the way.

Sorry to hear this. Did you do ALL of question bank, not just question trainers? Practicing questions is a strategy I would suggest. Also read the Kaplan review book cover to cover.

Hey 25ssb! I know it's rough. Who says success is made out of cotton candy anyway, right? Are you planning to take it again? If so, when? Have you tried HESI NCLEX reviewer or Saunders? I used the two myself and passed. I know what you are going through right now must be painful but know that you are not alone. You also can retake it again which is another bright side. For now, relax. Take a breather. Then after a couple of weeks or months depending on how you feel, go back again. Only now you know what are your weaknesses and strengths and etc...

Good luck! :nurse:

Thank you everybody for your support!!

Hey 25ssb

I took my first NCLEX September 15, 2012 and got all 265 and failed. However...

I just took my 2nd NCLEX today and got the good pop-up. I took the HURST course 3 weeks ago and really feel that's the reason I passed in 75 questions today. I was so confident and felt like no one could stop me this morning. The teachers/videos are so helpful and condense the information into what you really need to know for the test.

Good luck, relax, and you'll nail it and get your RN!!!
