Failed drug screen

Hello,

So the biggest nightmare of my life has come true. I tested positive for phentermine on a pre-employment drug screen. I have a old RX for medication and took it a day or so before my UDS not knowing it was an issue or that it would cause me to fail my UDS. I wasn't aware it would be a issue nor that it was a stimulant/ or that it would come up positive. I have an active RX for Adderall, however once you have a positive drug screen the urine is sent for further evaluation to the lab for a confirmatory test. The test came back for phentermine. With a concentration. I don't know what to do. My employer hasn't called me yet.

I'm not sure why this would be a problem? It isn't an illegal substance, and you had a prescription for it.  What is it that you're worried about?

She said it is an expired RX, so depends on how old it is, I think it has to be within a year

And for me at least anything I take has to be approved.  Totally ridiculous

But anyone can be reported for taking a prescription over a year old and the powers that be can twist that into addiction.

You'll have to jump through hoops and stuff, but I think you can argue and explain that you are not abusing this medication - you once had a prescription for it and you now take Adderall.  You can come up with an explanation - I don't know - you had an old prescription that you decided to take and you had already made a physician appt so you can get checked out and get further refills, etc etc
