Hi
Does our degrees that make us RNs in Australia equivalent to working in the US/ Canada?
I did a 2-year Master of Nursing in Sydney and I hear that we do. Anyone has been in these shoes that can offer advice?
I know Deakin Uni offers a short Midwifery course under their 'Professional Development' website, but I dont want to do it if it's not the right course.
I will call the Board of Nursing of California and Quebec, Canada next week to find out how our degrees are assessed and post some information. According to the CA BON website, it seems like we have to send our application for registration (and pay it) to find out. But if anyone who has been in this position, please post back of PM me.
And it seems like the process for working in the US for Australian citizens is in the order of
1. finding an employer (to sponsor you for the E3 visa)
2. getting a License from BON (whether it be doing a course and getting your university in Australia to send your transcripts over)
3. getting the Board of Nursing in the US to sign you off on the visa
4. submitting an E3 (because it requires your US RN license)
Is that right?
Thanks!
