I've been an LPN since 2007, but am currently not working. I'm a stay at home mom at the moment. I plan to go back to work in the next year or two, when my kids are older. I keep my LPN license valid, and just recently renewed my BLS/CPR card. I have been thinking about taking ACLS training, & the NAPNES Pharmacy certification course. I have barely worked as an LPN, and am worried about re-entering the work force with little experience. I'm wondering if taking the ACLS training, and online pharmacy course would possibly help me land a job? Has anyone taken the NAPNES pharmacy course online? If so, is it recognized nationally by most employers or just a scam? Thanks, any advice would be appreciated! :)

I got the NAPNES cert and personally don't think it's worth the money. It looks good on a resume and rarely may be required by an employer, but that's about it. The biggest problem I had was that it took months after sending in the paperwork/money to get a response, this only after I badgered them about it.
ACLS on the other hand seems like it would be very useful depending on what area of nursing you are looking into.
If you're in a state where IV certification has to be done separately, that would be essential to getting a hospital job.
Hi, thanks for your reply... I may do the pharmacy cert., so it looks good on a resume, but still am not sure. Sorry to hear yours took so long... I'm in VA., but did my nursing school in KY. The IV course was included in my nursing school. I don't have to have a seperate IV cert. here. Guess I'll just have to get as much on my resume as I can accumulate before starting work... I would like to find a day clinical job someday if possible because I'm a mom... thanks...
