I have an interview for a nurse externship tomorrow. I am so nervous! The opportunity is amazing. They allow you to schedule your own hours (min. 8 - max 20 / a week). They pay you (and evening, night, & weekend differentials). They give you money towards your tuition for a promise that you will come work for them to pay it back ( I think it's 2,400 hrs). So pretty much I am interviewing tomorrow for my RN job, not just an extern. I was one of 10 chosen to interview and they will choose 4 of us to be exters. Anyone have any last minute tips or recommendations for me? I have a professional outfit picked out and I also feel very confident in my interview/communication skills!

My only advice is the traditional advice which is: to dress appropriately, be on time, show them interest in the position and the organization, be honest with your replies. After interviewing all day, nothing is worse than hearing a response that sounds scripted. Mind your manners, and my final advice is do not forget to thank them for their time and send a thank you card. Good luck!

Try to put yourself in their shoes. If they really are picking you for an RN job there, it's not just about smarts and skills (although I'm sure you have those, since they picked you)... At this point, they might just be looking for a good fit... they want someone that is enjoyable to be around, and someone that really wants to be there (yet still has realistic expectations)!
Thanks for the tips! I GOT THE JOB :) I am so ecstatic!
So happy for you! Congratulations! Let us know how you like it! I am a nurse extern too at the moment... graduating in about 3 weeks!
