extending

So I am on assignment and I want to extend a few weeks (4-6) so that it will time better with some things I need to do in late springs. My manager on the unit said she definetly can use me on her other ICU unit b/c they are so short. However I want to negotiate a bonus for extending. Can this be expected whenever extending? How much should I ask for? Do I work this out through my recruiter/agency or through the hospital/manager? I am in KY and there is no completion bonus on this assignment so that is part of why I want to ask for this.

On a side note I am looking at California in May-June I think...I need to start making some real money, any thoughts on a nice place for a fairly new traveler? ICU or Interventional Radiology.

    You don't have much negotiating power for just a four week extension. No harm in asking though.
